Two Million Hours of Safety

Lithium Americas’ Thacker Pass celebrated an important milestone in March 2026: two million construction work hours with no lost time incidents (LTI). When including office hours, LAC’s total work hours without an LTI is four million work hours. 

The achievement is a testament to the care and commitment of every miner at Thacker Pass.

Jonathan Evans, President and CEO of Lithium Americas, visited Thacker Pass in early March to recognize the achievement: “People understand what we’re doing here. They support us. This is personal for me now, given the journey that we have made, and I hope you feel that same thing. You’re all making history here.”

“You’re working safely, and I know how hard that is, given how complicated the work here is with heavy equipment, the weather and the logistics,” Evans continued. “So I thank you for that. I thank your families, your families that aren’t here with you.”
