About NMA

America’s mining industry supplies the essential materials necessary for nearly every sector of our economy – from technology and healthcare to energy, transportation, infrastructure and national security.

The National Mining Association (NMA) is the only national trade organization that serves as the voice of the U.S. mining industry and the hundreds of thousands of American workers it employs before Congress, the federal agencies, the judiciary and the media, advocating for public policies that will help America fully and responsibly utilize its vast natural resources. We work to ensure America has secure and reliable supply chains, abundant and affordable energy, and the American-sourced materials necessary for U.S. manufacturing and economic security, all delivered under world-leading environmental, safety and labor standards.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the NMA has a membership of more than 250 companies and organizations involved in every aspect of mining, from producers and equipment makers to service providers.

The NMA’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The NMA is committed to furthering our engagement with, support for and understanding of our community; supporting all team members in being themselves; and driving the ongoing diversification of our team. We believe that everyone has distinct characteristics, skills and backgrounds that make their experiences as members of the NMA team and the perspectives they bring to the office unique. We want to encourage and celebrate that uniqueness. Above all else, through our work, the ultimate goal is to maintain a welcoming culture for all. For us, “welcoming” means that all employees feel that they are accepted, respected and valued, that we have created a safe space for the discussion of and embracing differences, and that the entire team is invested in their success.

The NMA is proud to be a signatory of CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace, which is comprised of nearly 2,000 companies and organizations. As part of this commitment, we pledge to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected and where employees feel comfortable and encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion.
