In January 2026, Warrior Met Coal celebrated the completion of its Blue Creek Mine Project in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. The project is a single longwall mine expected to produce an average of 6.0 million shorts tons of metallurgical coal over its first ten years of production, as well as provide more than 300 new jobs to the local area.
“This investment by Warrior has created jobs, economic growth, and sustainability in our rural communities,” said Senator Matt Woods. “I am happy to represent the largest coal producing district in Alabama.” By investing in the new mine, Warrior Met Coal is providing for America’s infrastructure and the livelihoods of the local populace.
