Copper is an important material in infrastructure, especially for new technologies and wiring. As we rebuild and strengthen American infrastructure, we will need copper to achieve our goals. That’s why transparent and fair permitting processes are important for new mines.
The Senate approved legislation in mid-April to remove a widespread mining ban and land withdrawal in northern Minnesota, an important step in assuring the permitting process can proceed as intended for proposed projects in the region, including Twin Metals Minnesota. Supporting new and responsible mining here in the U.S. ensures copper to supply our growing infrastructure needs.
