Safety is paramount in mining, and that’s why there are multiple awards celebrating outstanding performance in the category of safety. The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) recognizes individual miners and operations for the previous calendar year. This year, the NVMA Individual Safety Awards honored 37 individuals and 25 operations for their work in the year 2020.
“When faced with an unprecedented situation in 2020, Nevada mining responded with one of its safest years on record,” said NVMA President Tyre Gray. “Modern mining prides itself on a safety-first culture, regardless of circumstance. These 37 individuals and 25 operations went above and beyond in their efforts to keep their co-workers and teams safe and healthy. Congratulations to this year’s recipients!”
