Nickel for Electric Vehicles

As U.S. infrastructure turns towards an electric future, automobile manufacturers will need much more nickel to build electric vehicles (EVs). Talon Metals Corp., along with the United Steelworkers union, has developed a partnership to advance the Tamarack Nickel Project in Minnesota, a project which is the only undeveloped high-grade nickel deposit in the U.S. Domestic nickel production will greatly benefit the production of domestic EVs, a priority in our transition to a reduced emission transportation solution.

The preliminary mine design for the Tamarack Nickel Project will minimize environmental impacts and focus on developing a local workforce from the community. Talon is also evaluating the first transparent and traceable supply chain for nickel, following the metal from the proposed mine to battery manufacturing. On top of the Tamarack Nickel Project, Talon Metals owns a Talon branded Tesla for employee use, which they showed off at a September meet and greet, engaging with the community and celebrating innovation. By supplying responsibly sourced nickel, Talon is supporting EV development and a reduced emissions future.
