A Path to Future Infrastructure

Nickel is an important resource for infrastructure that isn’t always given its due. From stainless steel (which requires nickel) to nickel coating and alloys, nickel is used for power generation, building construction and even kitchenware, to name a few applications. With the rise of nickel use in EVs, the world needs more nickel, which means we need to continue exploring deposits and building mines.

Eagle Mine is a nickel and copper mine operating in Michigan. It has two active mineralized zones, Eagle and Eagle East, with a third in development. The Humboldt Mill is owned by the same mining company and allows for the extraction of more nickel. The mine expects to produce 440 million pounds of nickel, 429 million pounds of copper, and trace amounts of other minerals over the course of the mine’s life. Domestic production at Eagle Mine supports American transportation and infrastructure projects today and in the future.
