NMA Applauds Supreme Court Stay of EPA Ozone Transport Rule

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Mining Association (NMA) today issued the following statement from Rich Nolan, NMA President & CEO, applauding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to issue an emergency stay concerning the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Ozone Transport Rule, also referred to as the “Good Neighbor” rule.

Statement from Rich Nolan, NMA President and CEO: “We’re pleased that the Supreme Court recognized the immediate harm to industry and consumers posed by this reckless rule. No agency is permitted to operate outside of the clear bounds of the law and today, once again, the Supreme Court reminded the EPA of that fact. With a stay in place, we look forward to making our case in the D.C. Circuit that this rule is unlawful in its excessive overreach and must be struck down to protect American workers, energy independence, the electric grid and the consumers it serves.”
