A Culture of Safety

Safety isn’t something to consider occasionally; a true culture of safety involves constant awareness and thought, is embedded in all aspects of an organization, and emphasizes continuous improvement. That’s why mining companies like Kinross feature safety events like ‘Youth Safety Day’. Kinross Fort Knox hosted Youth Safety Day in August in Fairbanks, Alaska, to raise youth awareness of health and safety practices, bringing the same mindfulness home from the mines.

Over 850 interior Alaska residents attended the event, which included safety tips from police and fire personnel as well as a bike safety check. The event is the largest youth safety event in the state of Alaska and helps to ensure a culture of safety is nurtured early and throughout the family.
