WASHINGTON D.C. – The National Mining Association (NMA) today issued the following statement from its president and CEO Rich Nolan applauding the release by President Trump of his executive order on minerals and minerals mining:
“For far too long, our minerals import reliance has been a silent, growing threat to the country,” said Rich Nolan, President and CEO of the National Mining Association (NMA). “This executive order not only brings to light the grave vulnerabilities that exist in our national security, manufacturing, energy and medical supply chains given our reliance on geopolitical rivals for minerals we could be sourcing here at home, but also acknowledges that all minerals are critical when you need them and can’t get them. We look forward to working with the various government agencies to address and implement the goals outlined in the order.”
