World’s Biggest Mining Equipment Exhibition Draws Near

Six Months to MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2012 in Las Vegas, Nev. USA

Washington, D.C. –The countdown begins today for MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2012, the world’s biggest mining equipment exhibition, to be held on Sept. 24-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and sponsored by the National Mining Association (NMA).

Interested news media are encouraged to register now for a first-hand look at the newest technologies in mining equipment and services and how the worldwide mining industry is meeting the powerful demand for coal and metals that is driving global economic growth from Brazil to China.

This year’s quadrennial event will be the largest mining exhibition ever. “With 815,000 square feet of exhibit space already booked and more than 1600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, MINExpo® 2012 is already a record-breaking show,” said NMA’s President and CEO Hal Quinn. “The exhibit space alone is 36 percent more than the record-setting 2008 exhibition.”

This year’s program will offer attendees a wealth of information, from continuing education sessions and award ceremonies to specific products and service displays. CEOs of some of the world’s largest mining and mining equipment companies will highlight global market conditions.

On Sept. 25, the Sentinels of Safety awards will be presented to U.S. mining operations with outstanding safety records. The following day, officials from the U.S. Department of the Interior will confer national awards for outstanding environmental achievement in U.S. mining.

Registration is free of charge for credentialed news media representatives. Interested media representatives are urged to register now at http://www.minexpo.com/media/registration.html.
