NMA Names Gravatt Senior Vice President, Communications

The following statement was released today by National Mining Association (NMA) President and CEO Hal Quinn:

“The National Mining Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Gravatt to the position of senior vice president of communications effective Jan. 3, 2013. Gravatt replaces Carol Raulston, who will remain with NMA until May 15, when she plans to retire.

“NMA is pleased to have someone of Nancy’s caliber and experience to carry forward the association’s communications efforts. Her award-winning work as vice president of communications at the American Iron and Steel Institute uniquely prepares her for the responsibilities she will assume at NMA, including media relations, electronic communications, statistical services, public opinion research and strategic communications.

“Carol Raulston has been an invaluable member of NMA’s leadership team for nearly 11 years, advancing our strategic communications objectives through multiple platforms including Minerals Make Life, Count on Coal and CORESafety®. We are fortunate Carol will remain with NMA until mid-May, providing for a smooth transition and continuing counsel.”
